Magic Mouse

The all new Apple mouse the Magic Mouse.

We have all heard of the mighty mouse that Apple has been putting out. It had a good feel to the hand and worked off of a cord or wireless. Then someone charged them with copyright infringement. So they had to come out with an all new mouse.

The Magic Mouse.
Is Apple's new mouse. It is extremely low profile. It has many no answers in a good way. For example there is no clunky scroll wheel, no cord, and no visible buttons.

Yes no buttons.
The whole thing is one big button and it has a right click.
The mouse is all Multi- Touch. This means that you can control every thing from gestures with your fingers. This is just like the mouse pad that you will find on all the new MacBooks. you can scroll with the swipe of a finger, go through photos with two fingers, and you can click or double- click any where on the mouse.

This mouse is laser tracking. This means that you will be able to move your mouse seamlessly on any surface. This also means that it will be extremely accurate.

It runs wireless but not with one of those USB receivers. It uses Bluetooth technology to connect to your Mac.

It even comes with a built in software so you can customize it to your liking.

This now ships with all the new IMacs. You can buy it on its own for only $69.

Apple Tablet

The all rumoured Apple tablet to be coming out in late 2010?

The Apple tablet has be in the rumour for many years now. With the tablet pictures leaked form Microsoft earlier this year people have been wondering even more.

Now Digitims claims that the launch Apple was planning on in March may be postponed to the second half of 2010.

Why is this?
There are several reasons why this may be happening. One of them may be that they aren't ready to let it out and they need more time.

Apple is rumored to be working with Foxconn Electronics, Quanta Computer, and Pegatron Technology in the manufacturing of this. There is rumor that there will be two different models. One with a 10.6 inch TFT LCD and the other to have a 9.7 inch OLED screen.

Another reason for delay would be that with the cost of the OLED screen being so high it could bring the cost of that model up to nearly $2000. The 10.6 inch model could be in the $800 to $1000 cost range.

There is also talk that there may be a discount off the price with a 3G contract like there has been on the IPhone in the past.

My thoughts on this are different that I normally feel about Apple products. My first imprison was when I saw this was the price. When ever I think of a netbook I think of something that is low in cost. This would be the total opposite if those prices are correct. My other feeling is that when I type on my IPod Touch I like the screen size and how I just have to use my thumbs. Then when i get to my computer I use my whole hand. I just think that that with an on screen keyboard that size it would feel odd to type on. Those are just my thoughts with just what has been rumored. I would love to see this all come true though.

These are just rumors and things can change. This may not be what happens at all or nothing may even happen and there may be no Apple Tablet.

The new line up of Macs

Hey guys,
Sorry that I haven't been posting anything I have been really busy with school but I hope now to be able to post some more.

Now for what we are here for. Apple has just updated most of their computer line up. Let's start of with the MacBook. For this computer they left it the white plastic but have made it unibody like all their other macs. Now the corners are curved an it just looks and feels that much better. Although a price drop would be nice it still comes in at a really good price for a mac at $999. Here are the tech specs:
2.26GHz : 250GB
2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB DDR3 memory
250GB hard drive1
8x double-layer SuperDrive
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
Built-in 7-hour battery2
Polycarbonate unibody enclosure

Now for the IMacs. There have been some real big changes made to this line up. Now the only two screen sizes that they sell are a 21" and a 27". They don't sell the 24" model any more. Now here is the cool part you can spec out your IMac so that it is equal to the base line of the Mac Pro. The starting price for an IMac is $1,999.
Here are the tech specs for that:

21.5" screen 3.06 GHz
3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
1920 x 1080 resolution
4GB memory
500GB hard drive
8x double- layer SuperDrive
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics

After those two got there updates the Mac Mini got its update. This is apples little desktop computer. It is about the size of the Apple TV. This little desktop desktop computer ships with Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Starting as low as $599 and if you add the Mac sever to it it is still only $999. It is the cheapest mac that you can buy. Now there is only one down fall with this mac, it doesn't come with a screen so you would have to buy one separate. Now for the specs:
2.26 GHz: 160GB
2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB memory
160GB hard drive
8x double- layer superdrive
NVIDIA GEForce 9400M graphics

Apple TV

Apple TV? What ever happened to it?

Here is my opinion on the Apple TV.

The Apple TV is Apple's way of making so you can get all your ITunes content on your TV. You can listen to your music or you can use the ITunes store to rent movies of buy them then watch them right there on your TV. Apple came out with this product awhile ago but then it just disappeared. Why did this happen. Well I believe that they did this because it was not as big of a hit as the hoped it would be. So for this reason they just put it to the side and didn't talk much about it.

Where is it?

When I was on their website to find out its prices I couldn't find it at first. So where is it. Well to find it you have to go to ipod and itunes then on the scroll bar at the top scroll all the way to the side and their it is. So they have tried to put it out of peoples way so they wouldn't think much of it.

The prices of the unit are:

40gb $229

160gb $329

Snow Leopard

The next operating system that Apple has coming out in September. Whats so good about it? Wow look at the price only $30 how is that? Here is my complete breakdown of the new O.S.

What is so good about it. Apple claims it will make you Mac experience smoother by making the whole thing simpler and faster. It will also be more reliable. Apple claims that its refined and not reinvented. Which to me is what I want. They have updated some of there standard applications. For example Finder. Those looks I thought were amazing are said to be even better now. It will take half the time to do a Time Machine backup. So if you have a large hard drive packed full it wont take as long. That wake up time and shut down time have also been changed to go much faster. Ever wanted to check your email quick. Well now the time it takes to join a wireless network has been sped up by 1.55x. The installation will also free up space on your hard drive. How does it do this? Well with new technology they have made the O.S have a smaller footprint. That amazing program called QuickTime has also gotten an update. Now if you want to enter a Chinese character instead of having to spell it with the new track pad you can just draw it with your finder. The quality of IChat has also been updated. The video chats are now 640-by-480 pixel. That great web browser called safari will also be more powerful and faster. File sharing will be more efficient while disk ejects will be more reliable. (All the speed updates were compared to Leopard.)

How is it only $30. Here is why. Apple believes that this is just an updated to Leopard and not a whole new O.S so why should we have to pay the price for a full O.S. I totally agree with that and think that if they charged it as a full O.S then there would be no reason to get it but because it is only $30 it is totally worth it. Do remember that this isn't released until sometime in September.

Why did Apple change the laptop lines?

Here are my thoughts on why Apple may have changed up their notebook lines.

What did they change:

During the WWDC conference they announcened that the aluminum MacBook would now be called a MacBookPro. This is because they changed the specs inside of it to mathc the specs of the other MacBookPro's. Leaving the MacBook White as the only MacBook. This did get upgraded but not as much.

Why they may have done this:

Apple is a smart company and wouldn't just let go of the name MacBook after all these years. So by moving the aluminum MacBook out they can now put a new product that they may make into its slot. This new product may be a much hoped for netbook. There have been a lot of rumers going around that Apple is ordering a lot of the same touch screens that are on the IPhone and IPod Touch but 10 inches. This would make for a nice small computer with a touch screen. It would fit perfectly into the name MacBook because it would be the smallest Apple notebook. What about the MacBook White? The MacBook White my be retired or they may bring back the same one but in black and have those two also under the name MacBook. These two computers could also take the place of the MacBook just like they did before the aluminum ones and there could be no netbook.

Why this may not be possible:

This may not be possible. This is because of the quality computers Apple makes. The problem is that with all that Apple includes in their compter they have to be priced in the upper price range. For this reason it may be hard to make a netbook because netbooks are normaly priced on the lower end. With this if Apple were to make a netbook it may not be priced as low as we would expect a netbook to be. That is why this may not be possible.

Why do you think they may have changed the computer line up?

The IPhone 3GS

The IPhone 3GS is the next companion to the IPhone line up. To many people the IPhone has changed the way people think of their phones. Here are my thoughts on the new IPhone and it's specs.

My thoughts:

First of all I would love to have the IPhone. Ever since the first IPhone came out I have been greatly impressed with the newer software and hardware they have come out with. I own an IPod Touch 2G and love it but would still love to have the IPhone.

With the IPhone 3GS that was announced on June 8 at WWDC I was a little let down. This is because I was really hoping to see a new design or just little change on the outside but none was done. The only thing that was changed on the hardware was the camera which went from a 2 megapixel to a 3 megapixel but other than that nothing new. There were many things inside of the device that were changed though. These are what add the S at the end of the name now. The s stands for speed. The biggest part of the new IPhone. Apple is claiming that the IPhone 3GS will now be able to load a web page in half the time that it would take an IPhone 3G. My over all though on the new IPhone 3GS is that if you already have the IPhone 3G I see no need to upgrade.

The Specs:

The specs inside of the IPhone 3G have changed to make the new IPhone 3GS. As I said earlier there is now a 3 megapixel camera inside. It still has the same amazing 3.5 inch touch screen on the front. The battery has been upgraded as well. You can now have up to 12 hours of talk time on 2G and up to 5 hours on 3G. The stand by time is still 300 hours. The ram inside the device was also updated. Along with that the hard drive was upgraded. You can now get either a black or white IPhone with either a 16 gigabyte hard drive or a 32 gigabyte hard drive. The software it will be running is IPhone O.S 3.0. IPhone OS 3.0 will also be available for older IPhone models and IPod Touches on June 15. The IPhone 3GS will have many new features. One of these new features is that it will now be able to take video. The device will also now have speech command. Apple's spotlight search engine on all their Macs will now be integrated into the IPhone. Another feature that will be available with the new IPhone is the ability to tether. Those are just a few of the many new features that will be available on the new IPhone 3GS. Which will be released on June 19.

The Pricing:

IPhone 3G 8GB: $99 (black)

IPhone 3GS 16GB: $199 (black or white)

IPhone 3GS 32GB: $299 (black or white)

Here is the add:

An update of Apple's notebook lines.

Here is a breakdown of the new MacBookPro and all the other MacBook lines.

There is only one MacBook now. that is the white plastic polycarbonate version. This has a 13 inch screen and now comes standard with a back lit keyboard. The price is still the same which is $999.

The MacBook Pro line has been updated. There are now three different models of the MacBookPro. The first one is the 17 inch which has just gotten spec updates which can be found at apple.com. The second MacBookPro is the 15 inch which just like the 17 inch just got spec updates which can be found at apple.com. There is now a third MacBookPro. This one has a 13 inch screen. This is what use to be the MacBook. This one got all the same specs as the other MacBookPro's. The MacBookPro's now all have an SD card slot instead of the express slot. The 13 inch MacBookPro was also given a SD card slot even though in the past this computer didn't have an express slot. The MacBookPro's were all given a price drop and now are starting at a price of just $1299.

The MacBook Air is a ultra thin and stylish computer but still does the job of a computer. This computer does lack many thing including a CD drive. This MacBook was given some great spec bumps including a 120 gigabyte hard drive or a 128 gigabyte solid state drive. The graphics card is now an NVIDIA GFORCE 9400M. It still has the same screen as the MacBook the 13.3 inch. The MacBook Air also had a price drop of around $700. The computer is now priced at $1499.

That is an update of all of Apple's notebook lines.
